Now who in the world would brush their dogs teeth? Well, I do. I have a miniature dachshund that is close to fourteen years old. I always had her on a strict diet until the past two years ago when she decided she just didn't want to eat. She is up in years, so if I can get her to eat ANYTHING I will spoil her and let her do that. She has no appetite. She turns her nose up at dog food, and even steak that I have cooked and chopped up in pieces. Chicken, or pork forget it. So basically what she eats now is a piece of toast and strawberry jam for breakfast. She likes to drink the kids sweetened milk from their cereal bowls. For lunch maybe a cupcake with frosting. For dinner she leaves her regular food that I always offer her, and might eat another piece of toast or a small cookie. Whatever, she is a princess and can have whatever she wants. I do worry about her teeth being that she eats and drinks a lot of foods with sugar. She has always had a hideous and foul smell to her breath, even when she was younger and eating more healthy. Brushing her teeth seems only right. I don't want her teeth to decay now. They are still beautiful. I believe clean teeth in all animals promotes overall wellness.

My Experiences With EZ Dog Pet Toothpaste in the 2.5 Oz Tube (Triple Pet)

Now Triple Pet does sell the toothpaste as well as the toothbrushes. I am not paying that much for their toothbrush. You can have fifteen dollars wrapped up quick in this if you are not careful. I use their toothpaste and a child size brush for my TWINKIE. I use about a pea size amount of paste and I hold her mouth open and brush her teeth, gums as well as the tongue. At first she wasn't happy about it, but now she seems to really love it, especially when I brush her gums. I don't brush them three times a day or anything, but rather once after she is finished eating for the night. There aren't any directions listed on the tube.

I can tell you that on this tube it says it is suppose to be vanilla in flavor.  I haven't tasted it, so I can't tell you.  What I will say is that to me it smells more like a vanilla mint.  Her breath smells a lot better now.  I have never taken my dog to a dentist, but her gums are nice and pink, and I haven't noticed any decay.  What I love about this paste, is that it doesn't seem to foam at all.  I guess you don't have to rinse either, but I run my water spigot from the sink over my dogs tongue and I rinse while she gets a drink

I pay around five dollars for a 2.5 oz tube.  The tube lasts me quite a while since I am only using a pea size amount on the brush.  I would highly recommend this paste as well as brushing your dogs teeth.
