Javelina's Full Review: Earth Friendly Organic Lavender Bubble Bath For Ba...
I never used bubble bath with my baby, and once she became a toddler, my daughter was begging me for "more bubbles!". I had trouble finding natural bubble baths, but I managed to find Earth Friendly Baby Organic Bubble Bath. I don't have the best selection of health food stores, so California Baby was the only other bubble bath I had a decent time finding (Target).
"Earth friendly baby are proud to make these three bubblebaths featuring classic organic Chamomile, relaxing organic Lavender & funtime organic Mandarin, all great for your little one! Lovely refreshing scents, rich foam and great cleaning all at the same time! As if that’s not enough, it leaves baby’s skin feeling very smooth, ready for mum to massage, dress and start a new day or to put to bed! In a great value, easy pouring 370ml bottle, a little goes a long way – so pour carefully!" (Earth-Friendly-baby.com)
Earth Friendly Baby Organic Lavender Bubble Bath
I found this product at a local natural foods store. There were several scents to choose from, like mandarin and chamomile, but my daughter definitely needs to wind down before bed, so I picked the lavender. The bubble bath comes in a clear plastic container and is clear itself (and almost looks like bottled water). The container holds 12.5 fl oz and cost me $9.99. The manufacturer sells this on their website for $11.95.
In the bottle, this bubble bath looked like it has the consistency of water, so I was a little bit worried. Mostly because I paid $10 for this and I was hoping a little bit would go a long way. I do realize that a lot of natural and environmentally friendly products are concentrated, so that was my hope.
In the bottle, the scent is clearly lavender, but not as strong as I thought it would be since this product is supposed to be more on the concentrated side. The smell in the bath is also nice, but mild. I suppose it is better for the product to be on the mild side instead of too strong with little children.
I pour this bubble bath out while the bath water is running. It is indeed watery, but it bubbles up as the water comes down. It doesn't remind me of the "unhealthy" bubble baths where the bubbles are just billowing up, but there are some decent bubbles. I personally would like more bubbles, in terms of volume, and I wouldn't mind if they lasted a little longer.
My 2.5-year-old has never experienced any kind of skin irritation with this product. It also seems to rinse of easily enough when we do our end of the bath rinse. I don't notice a lingering scent on her skin, but I can't say I have smelled her skin closely either.
Overall
This is a nice product in terms of having healthy ingredients. I appreciate that the smell is mild, but I wouldn't mind even a little more to it. Also the bubbles aren't that great, but I suppose it is a trade-off for not having unhealthy ingredients in it. All in all, a nice product but nothing particularly special- not great, and not bad either. I will likely stick with something like California Baby bubble bath or keep trying other natural ones as I find them.
