The Bottom Line: This is an excellent first food for your earth-friendly baby and a wonderful mix-in for your growing toddler.

| momma2claire's Full Review: Earths Best Baby Cereals |
For two decades, my friends have always labeled me a "tree hugger" - one of those very earth-conscious folks. When my daughter, Claire (now 14 months) began eating solid foods at six months, my eco-friendly ways influenced what sorts of food I bought Claire. As someone who only buys organic baby food, I love the Earth's Best line. I usually purchase the Oatmeal cereal variety (the Rice Cereal was her very first taste of solid food; it is excellent, too, but constipated my daughter, a drawback of all rice cereals).
I love Earth's Best Oatmeal Cereal because the consistency of the dried cereal looks more "whole grain-like" than other organic cereal lines (which have a much finer, powdery look to the cereal). I know that some people don't like this aspect of the cereal, but I believe this is a healthy and nutritious sign, and these are the lessons I want my daughter to learn about healthy eating. My daughter enjoys eating this cereal on its own or mixed in with pureed food (she's less enthusiastic about eating more fine cereal).
One final comment on the packaging. The Earth's Best box is sturdy and the spout is not made of cardboard - which means it stays shut when you close it, stays open while you are pouring the cereal, and the cereal goes where you want it to (in the bowl rather than all over your table!).
