| chelsmommy's Full Review: Earths Best Baby Cereals |
As a new mother , I wanted to do everything right for my son. A few months after he was born, I received a sample of Earth's Best brown rice cereal. I thought that was perfect. What could be better than a nice , wholesome, organic cereal.
When the time came for his first feeding experience, I opened that sample package and started to mix the cereal. I ended up using quite a bit of milk( and when you are using breastmilk, every drop is precious) and the consistency was gritty and lumpy. I spooned some of this cereal into my son's mouth and he promptly spit it back out. I fully expected this-after all, the baby books said this would happen. I was persistent and tried this cereal everyday until I exhausted my supply. I then went to the supermarket to purchase a more readily available brand.
As soon as I tried the other brand, my son opened wide and kept eating. Once he was comfortable with eating solid foods and consuming a decent amount, I purchased some Earth's Best and tried again. He still refused to eat this cereal. My experience with my 2nd son was a bit different. He did reject it in the beginning, but after a few weeks he was more willing to consume it--tho not as heartily as some other brands.
Overall, I think it is a great idea and would have been happy if my kids enjoyed it. I was neither fond of the consistency nor the quantity of expressed milk this cereal required.
