doglover's Full Review: Earthbath Puppy Shampoo 16oz Plastic Bottle
I gave my vizsla puppy a bath yesterday with the Earthbath pet shampoo and I cannot believe how soft he is this morning! So I decided I would relay my experience with the Epinions community since I have not written in awhile. Earthbath is a product from a San Francisco, California based company which is committed to our environment.
As some of you know, my wonderful Dalmation passed away about five years ago. Well, two years ago, I finally passed my grieving period and got another dog. He is a vizsla. Vizslas have the characteristic of not having an undercoat so they are in general very clean dogs. Therefore when my vizsla gets a bath it is typically only once every two months or so. Granted, if it were up to him, he would get it every day. Heck, he tries to jump in the shower with me every morning. Since there is such a long time in between baths I wanted to get a shampoo that I felt does a good job on him and the impact to his coat lasts a long time. Earthbath shampoo has done that for me and more.
Why I love this product
I bought this product when my dog was eight weeks old as his first shampoo and I still have the same bottle! He is now two years old. His coat is amazingly soft and he smells great. Also it makes his coat shiney and brings out the deep red and gold in his coat. OK, OK, I know, vizslas are a breed of dog that do not smell anyway. I also give him Eukanaba active dog food and a Nuvet vitamin every morning, but I strongly feel that the shampoo is a strong contributor to his soft and clean coat. Everyone that meets my dog and gets kissed by him says that his skin is so soft And his mango tango smell is so wonderful. Waking up to that just makes your whole day.
Also it is very easy to give him a bath. The shampoo lathers quickly where do not have to put alot on him. Just get him wet, put a row of shampoo down his back, rub it around his body, a lot of wiggling in pleasure from him, rinse off with a small bowl and he is back out of the shower within ten minutes. Also I have noted that he is OK with the shampoo getting near his face.

Could be Better
My only complaint with this product is that since the shampoo is highly concentrated, it is hard to squeeze it out through the cap. It can be diluted with ten parts water but I am too lazy to do that. You have to turn the bottle upside down, and shake it for a time and squeeze pretty hard if you do not dilute it. It does come out within a reasonable period of time though.
Conclusion
Do your dog a favor and the environment a favor and use this product. Then do not forget to towel dry your pet with a huge hug. They deserve it for all the joy they bring into your life.
