After having used EAS Betagen for roughly a month, I am disappointed with the product/results. I experienced marginal increase in lean muscle tissue and strength. The so-called "enhanced muscle energetics and recuperation Betagen" was nothing more than hog wash; opting for other supplements (at a better price), you'll see better results.
What is Betagen?
It's supposed to be the first formula to combine HMB (an amino acid) with Phosphagen Creatine. The combination of the two are supposed to significantly enhance muscle energy and recuperation.
Recent studies have indicated that HMB can help shift the balance of protein metabolism in favor of muscle growth my breakdown of muscle tissue. I beg to differ.
PROS
-Tasty
The fruit punch flavor tastes very much like Kool-Aid.
-Minimal Servings and no loading period.
Only 3, 1.5 teaspon servings are needed w/ 4 oz of water daily.
CONS
-Marginal results.
I have experienced much more significant gains with pure creatine, whey protein, and proper nutrition.
Many of my friends can also attest to this statement, as they have seen little results with using Betagen.
-No signs of "enhanced muscle energetics and recuperation".
My rest period post-workout remained the same.
-Pricey.
Even at netrition.com, 21 oz of the product (90 servings), costed 57.95.
Bottom Line
Opt for different supplements, and stay away from Betagen.
