Pros:Starts quick with plenty of power. Quick line replacement but use thicker line.
Cons:Has leaked gas/oil mixture through the exhaust muffler since day one. Too much maintenance.
The Bottom Line: Avoid it! Any trimmer that leaks gas and oil from the exhaust is a fire hazard. Echo's explanation that the rings seat in 2-3 full tanks of gas is bologna.
This is my first Echo item that I bought because of the reputation of a superior product. I've had this trimmer 3 months and used it about 4 times to trim my lawn. Took to the shop for an oil and gas leak and they said the carburetor had to be replaced because you cannot adjust the Echo Trimmer carburetor. Just throw it away and replace the carburetor the service tech said. But I got it back and it was just adjusted. Had it in the shop two times so far for an oil/gas leak that is coming out the exhaust and down the side of the trimmer. So far they have not been able to resolve the problem. I'm not confident that cleaning the exhaust the second time does any good at all. They adjusted the check valve the first time and cleaned the exhaust muffler the second time. I have the 5 year warranty but only 2 years on the carburetor and fuel tank. The third time this trimmer goes in the shop , I'm asking for my money back from the ACE Hardware that I bought it. Echo says on line that the rings will seat in 2-3 full tanks of gas. I'm not buying that explanation. It's the first engine of any kind that leaked oil/gas among my trimmers, blower or mowers. Don't buy an Echo!
