This car seat is great!! I bought it for my second child and I love it so much I am thinking of buying another one to replace my first child's car seat.
This car seat can be used rear facing until the child is 35 pounds, front facing from 22-40 pounds and as a booster from 30-80 pounds. The seat rests on a base that enables the seat to easily recline to 3 different positions. The car seat can be used without the base also.
Assembly was very easy with the exception of one problem I encountered. When trying to remove the infant insert, the video and instructions made it look really easy and I was beginning to think mine was permanently attached by mistake. It turned out that I really had to pull hard to remove the insert. That is a good thing though because when you use it with an infant, you want the insert to be secure. Other than that, I assembled the car seat in about 5 minutes and it took me another 5 to put it in my car.
The 5-point harness system used with this car seat is a little tricky at first but I like it because my child seems very secure and comfortable in it. I would recommend practicing strapping it a few times before you get the baby in it.
Other features of this car seat are the fact that the harness never needs rethreading and that there is an adjustable headrest. I like this because it makes it really easy to adjust the car seat whenever needed. There is mesh little pockets on the sides for putting things in and the base has a small storage container as well.
The car seat fits very well in my minivan and also has a very stylish look to it. Thank you Cosco and Eddie Bauer!
