| fivegirl's Full Review: Edge 2450 Recumbent Exercise Bike |
I bought this bike a few months ago when I was searching for a mid-priced recumbent. I got it at auction, new, for about 170 plus delivery. It is quiet, very solid, comes with foot straps and has a built in computer to monitor time, distance, speed and calories. It also has a design that has unimpeded views because the handlebars are near the seat.
There are only a few downsides that I've noticed. First, the computer does not seem to be able to calculate calories based on your weight. For those who exercise by calories burned, that will be a problem. Also, because the handlebars are near the seat, there is no place to prop a book.
Aside from these few complaints, I am very pleased with this product. It's recumbent design means a comfortable, non back-straining ride, and the seat, while sturdy, does not seem to hurt my butt. It was inexpensive, fairly easy to put together, and yet does not feel junky. Also, because I wanted to watch TV while using it, the unimpaired views are important (take a look at other models that have the handlebars in your face). This bike seems like it will last a good long while.
