In my opinion, this is the best filter one can buy. All I can say is the most important aspect of aquarium keeping, and the one you should be least willing to scrimp on, is the filtration system. After using a Magnum 350 for eight years and reading about the construction of a fluval, I wouldn't buy any other brand. I originally was going to buy a Fluval 404 at petsmart.com for $144.00. I found the same pump for $89.00 at bigalsonline.com. For just a little more money I got a pump which is by far superior to the fluval both in construction and efficiency. Petsmart.com wanted $329.00 for the Eheim. $129.00 more than at bigalsonline.com. My tank is crystal clear and the fish are healthy as can be. I did a lot of research before deciding on this pump. I don't think you will find a better one anywhere. Eheim makes professional pumps.
