Pros: Powerful suction, ease of use, ultra quiet, wonderful wide floor brush, cord plenty long, attractive.
Cons: Cord doesn't retract, and the wheel marks left on the carpet are not very attractive.
I just received my Electrolux Oxygen 3 Ultra. I was looking for a great vacuum that didn't cost $1000. My grandmother had an Electrolux for 40 years. Good brand. I had been interested and checked out the Dyson but found it to be an ugly machine and the reviews weren't so great. And refurbished? Sure. I trust the Electrolux brand. The price was great! So, after receiving it today, I gave it a run on the carpet and floor. It worked very well, the suction pulls me across the floor and changing from carpet to floor is very easy. I've used enough vacuums in my life to determine ease of use. The machine looks great, and it doesn't matter that the floor brush and upholstery tool do not store on the machine. I absolutely LOVE the floor brush. My Mother always swore by it on wood floors. And more tools on the machine would just make it more cumbersome considering its design. I have a good place for my attachments. And it is so very quiet.
However, the cord does not retract, and I haven't even had it in my house for one hour. That has never been an issue with other cheaper types. Also, the wheels make marks on the carpet that I am not used to. Usually it's a ribbon mark from the brush, instead it makes wheel marks. Odd.
And after having read many negative reviews already, after purchasing on line and waiting for it to arrive, I wonder if something else will go wrong. It makes me feel a bit shaky on this deal. I purchased a refurbished unit for $299.00 on the CPO site.
