EA Sports is well known when it comes to sports games and even better know for it's football series Madden. The newest installment, Madden 2002 has once again broken the standards of excellence again. Madden 2002 fully utilizes the graphics on this next-generation video gaming system. The players move fluidly and if you look closely you can see their veins and muscles in their arms. The controls are very responsive and anyone can pick it up and play using the basic controls right away. If you have played Madden before there is virtually no learning curve. One other nice improvement is the AI. In previous Madden games a user could repeatedly use the same plays over and over, not anymore. The AI is very solid in Madden 2002. Another nice feature is that the user can adjust the skill level of the AI. Madden also offers a franchise mode where a user can build a team and over a couple seasons develop them into a Championship contender. Users can trade players and watch them develop over time. You may suffer the first couple years with young player who have raw talent, but it will all pay off when they develop into dependable veterans. Create A Player is a nice feature, which allows the user to customize a player. Their are a great number of options to chose from while customizing a player. The only drawbacks are that the game uses a lot of memory and sometimes there are slowdowns while playing. Players also run through each other at times and the commentators can be repetitive. Overall this is a great game and if you like football you'll love this game!
