Getting Started
This was one of the first games released for the Gamecube, hence I chose to buy it over Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. I had played Madden 64 before, and loved it, so I decided to try this one out.
Not Action
First off, this is a very realistic football game. If you want tons of action, fun after hits, and fast gameplay, go get blitz 2003. This game is made for the avid football fan that loves realism in every detail.
Learning Curve
This game has a very hard learning curve in which the average teenager would just give up at. You must be dedicated to this game, and learn to love it. The controls are difficult to memorize, even after it is popped up on the loading screen numerous times.
The Fun Part
It is so much fun to own your brother over and over once you get good. You will only have a 40% pass completion rate, and your average run will be 3 yards, but hey, what is it in the NFL? The games last 40 minutes on average, so plan for a long one. Learn to memorize the plays, and abuse the playbooks till you know the good ones. Learn to be patient. If you put the time in, it is a great game.
