cdin's Full Review: Elliptical Trainer Stamina Programmable Elliptical...
HURRAH for the Stamina Elliptical, BOO for all the other machines that want to charge an arm and a leg and offer little or nothing more than this terrific machine.
When I saw how expensive the other elliptical machines were, (several thousands of dollars), I became angry. Why? Because it's such a waste of money, when you consider how great the Stamina is for under $500.
I've owned my Stamina elliptical for a number of years, and find it absolutely terrific in every way. It's durable, super well built, looks great, has a movement smooth as ice and has all the features anyone could ever need. And not to scoff at, but the Stamina company is responsive and seems to be a great group of people.
This Stamina Elliptical provides extended handhold bars so that you can exercise the arms as well - total workout. The expensive machine does not. That's a kick isn't it? Just legs, no arms? Not good. As for inclining which the expensive guys think is so great, well... who needs it? Nature is fully satisfied with the smooth no-hurting-the-joints walking and running no-jarring motion of the simple, elegant, straight forward Stamina elliptical. All the leg muscles are used, plain and simple. And, Nature wants us to move the arms and legs together! It's the way we were designed, and of most value to our health.
I write this only because it bothers me when companies want to charge veritable fortunes for products that other companies are offering for much lower and of similar benefit and quality. It's such a waste to spend money when you don't have to.
When there's terrific value in a product, when you can save huge (and I mean Huge!) amounts of money, when it seems the other guys are trying to take advantage of my wallet by appealing to my fears of needing more glitz and useless features so they can get super rich, then someone like me goes ahead in their busy day to write about a great product so others can save their hard earned money and get a great workout as well.
They say there's nothing better than the elliptical machine. I think they are right. I have researched extensively, for it's my nature to be a perfectionist.
The elliptical is smooth on my joints, quiet as a whisper, built like a brick house, looks terrific, and is really fun! Enjoy a machine? What a concept. But I do, and I hate exercising without mountain streams and paths to navigate through a verdant wilderness paradise. Too bad, but I don't live in Yosemite or Yellowstone.
The only other type of machine I would have considered is the stair stepper, but a good inexpensive one with the great arm action is not available.
Okay, I think I've dissipated my anger by trying to save you a buck or two, and trying to spread the word about a company that isn't into just growing their coffers, but are offering a great product at a super great price. Do we deserve such riches? I do, I have, and I'm very happy. Good luck, and happy exercising!
