I bought this gate when my son was starting to crawl, I have a large doorway I wanted to block off and make a nice cozy playroom for him, where it would be clean, and the dogs couldn't go in there. I bought the gate and needed an extension piece as well because the opening is 8 1/2 feet long. It took me a while to check out all the possible gates out there, and I found this to be the best.
It is very strong, the look is "modern", it's not an eyesore to look at even when the kids are in bed. Since having my son, I had a daughter a year after he was born, so keeping the two of them in their nice playspace( and all their toys) is great. I don't have to worry if I want to go down the hall to put away laundry, or that the dogs will eat their snacks!! The kids are now going to be 2 years and 3 years old. And I still have it up. I like this gate because I can clean off the "sticky fingerprints" easily, the little ones like having their playroom where they can do what they want, I feel very strongly about this gate. I am glad I bought it. The only con I found besides the price, which wasn't to bad escpecially for our kids safety, was the installing of it, it really bothered my husband, don't try to put it together without READING ALL the directions, like he tried to do.!!!
