rialb's Full Review: EnGenius DuraFon 1X 1-Line Cordless Phone
We purchased 4 x handsets and DURAFON SP 922 4 LINE WIRELESS PABX SYSTEM. Distance - GREAT - does what it claims BUT sound quality is VERY POOR to the extent that you must listen VERY CAREFULLY to the caller. Also there is clipping of sound resulting in an even poorer communication where we have to ask the caller to repeat their communication. This is even when standing metres from the base station. The 4 line base function is good, as is the phone. Phones are "clunky" "old" with readouts being small and difficult to read. Keypad does not respond fast enough meaning lots of incorrect dialed calls. From new, 2 of the phones did not work properly and we are still seeking repair/replacement 1 week after advising of the problems. Overall we expected far more from an expensive cordless.
Compared to .......
We have used a variety of Uniden portables, most notably the 7915 range which are excellent function and sound quality... but only support 1 line. Reliability of these has been "OK" with 2 out of 5 failing over a 10 month ownership period. Replacement/service was prompt.
