Prosobee Formula Saved My Sanity

Oh my God, somebody help me! My house has gone to hell in a handbasket! My three year old daughter just stuck pudding in her ears to block out the noise, my husband was almost in a car accident because of lack of sleep, and the POLICE were called to our house by a neighbor! Why?! what in the blue hell is going on over at Kelamandasmom's house?! NEWBORN WON'T STOP SCREAMING!!!
I had to take the easy road and formula feed my newborn baby. Yes, I know breast is best. Yes, I know I was lazy! God forbid I actually think of myself and my poor breasts for a moment! I breastfed my first child for 4 months, then put her on Enfamil formula without any problems. So the desicion was made that I would formula feed our newest arrival. If only life was that easy!
About 2 weeks after her birth, our new daughter was spitting up constantly. Now all babies spit up, but this was major. Then, the screaming began. No, not crying, screamimg! Piercing cries that would last for days on end. nobody was sleeping in our house, and yes a nosy neighbor actually called the police thinking that we were abusing our child! The police officers, both fathers, understood. The baby has colic. Right?! Wrong!?
Everyone swore that the baby had colic. My husband, my mother, everyone. First off, colic doesn't start till about 6 weeks of age. Secondly, my first child had colic. Predictable wails that happened about the same time every day. This was different, she was in pain. And, so was I. My head wouldn't stop pounding. I was a mess.
Change her formula. What?! Change her formula my mother in law said. She tells me that she went through the exact same thing with my sister in law when she was a baby. Well genius, our house has been in complete chaos for over two weeks now, and you decide to tell us this now?! Give my MIL an award, the DUNCE CAP! I really need to write an editorial on my in-laws!
Now on to the actual review on the product. We began using Prosobee powder formula when my baby was 4 weeks old. About 24 hours after her first bottle, she was quiet. Oh my GOD, check the baby, is she BREATHING!!!!! I was worried, and a basket case remember. Yes, she was breathing, sleeping actually. The screaming FINALLY stopped! We were a family again. Exhausted yes, but a family nevertheless. The spit up, and discomfort was due to the formula. A milk based formula which my baby's tummy just couldn't handle.
So, here was Prosobee to the rescue! At about $11.50 for a 14 ounce can of powder, it is a fair deal. Ready to feed is of course more expensive, so I do recommend either powder formula, or concentrated liquid. Each can of powder makes 100 ounces of formula. Enough in our house to last 2 to 3 days. So what is so different about Prosobee in comparision to other formulas? This formula is soy based. It is milk free and lactose free. This makes the formula easier to digest. The baby is happy, my older daughter is clean and pudding free, my husband has almost caught up on his sleep, and the next door neighbor almost got her butt whooped! And me? I'm still overworked, underappreciated. I am mom, hear me roar!
Now as great as this formaula is, their are some minor drawbacks. The formula smells kind of funny. But then again, so does any formula. Have you ever smelled Nutramigen or Alimentum formula. YUCH! Secondly, this formula tends to stain more than ohers. Buy a box of clorox two and get over it!
I do highly recommend this formula for any mother who has gone through what I have. But please get the ok from your doctor before giving your baby anything new. Oh look, there's my next door neighbor. Come here Mrs. Graham, you no good son of a .......................lol!
