philiflash's Full Review: Enter The Matrix for Xbox
I just went out and got the XBOX and this game. I figured it would be a good first and only game ebcause of the additional video clips and the fact that everybody is interested in watching Matrix related crap. So far, I have played about 20 hours and gotten to the helicopter scene which I cannot get past. Always frustrating with a video game when you get stuck somewhere and can't get past it but my lack of videogame ability is not the subject for this review.
The game is a fun play and actually takes you inside the Matrix. The story seems a little forced in the sense that things just appear and stuff happens for little reason just so you have to play yourself out of the situation.
The best part of the game is fighting with the focus mode which slows everybody down so you can do some serious behind-kickin. The gun control is a little complex and oversensitive making it difficult to control. Luckily, the game makers made the kicking and punching suffice so that you do not have to trouble with the aim. There is an auto-aim button but I have not had much luck with it.
The video clips are pretty decent but it is not movie quality stuff. Lame Jada Pinket does her version of acting in boring scenes. So far, I have not seen any clips that would be worthy to include in the movie.
I would have liked to see a little more thought put into the gameplay. The game would be better if you were Neo and as you beat certain scenes, you gained additional powers. It is kind of neat to play seperate of the movie like it almost an extra part of the movie but it is difficult to create this story that is seperate from the one we all now.
Here it is. Ideal game would be starting out as normal. You meet Morpheus. He sends you back into Matrix. You learn to kick rear tail. blah blah blah.
This game is still a must have. I mean it's the Matrix, right? I read somewhere that this is a rental but unless you are trying to play 5 days straight, you really can't beat the whole thing. Might as well pick yourself up a copy.
