littleestrella's Full Review: Epson Stylus NX400 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I got the Epson Stylus NX400 at a big discount when I bought my MacBook Pro. I don't usually like all-in-one electronics because I often find that one function works really well and the others - well - don't. Not so with the Epson Stylus NX400. It scans and copies just as good - if not better - than it prints. I scanned an entire scrapbook of photos in less than an hour. It's that easy to use.
The printer is very easy to use. I didn't read the manual, and I have used all of the printer's functions (printing, scanning pictures and documents, and copying). A preview screen on the printer even walks you through the process of changing ink, a very handy feature if it isn't always hooked up to a computer.
The ink is a little expensive (if you buy the Epson brand ink at Staples or Wal-Mart it can cost more than the printer), but no more so than the ink that other multi-function printers use. This is my first all-in-one printer, so buying separate blue, yellow, magenta, and black cartridges is a new experience. I tried the brand-name cartridges and found they work just as well as the name-brand ink. And I only paid $3.50 per cartridge.
It would be nice if the printer scanned documents to a PDF, but for an all-in-one under $100 I am more than happy.
