I did a lot of due diligence before buying a printer for my small business. My particular business requires printing out large packets of documents up to 40 pages, some on legal size paper and also faxing and scanning fairly extensive document packages. That being said this machine has been up to the task.

One of the biggest problems with these machines in general is setup and connectivity problems and I wanted to avoid those sort of problems. The software installation was extremely simple for this machine and I experienced no more difficulty than inserting a desk and sitting in my chair watching the process for about 20 minutes. I have an older computer yet there were no problems whatsoever.
Once setup, the prompt calls for ink cartridge installation which is another bonus of this machine. On most competitors you get only nominally filled cartridges that can't print more than 20 pages. The Epson 610 comes with 4 cartridges, one black and 3 color that are FULL when purchased and can be bought in separate parts. So if for example you only print in black and white 99 percent of the time you can only buy the black ink portion which is cost effective. I have been using this printer now for 6 months and just now am coming due for my first new cartridges, which I find to be excellent life.
As far as paper capacity and speed is concerned, the 610 has an autodoc feeder which can take up to 50 pages and a paper feeder for printing that is rated to can take 100 pages. Copying can be accomplished from the autofeeder or you can make individual copies on the glass plate of up to legal size paper. Similarly scanning can be from the docfeeder of placed separately on the glass. Speed is rated at b/w 15 ppm and 9 color which I have found to be accurate. The color printing on this machine is phenomenal!.For business I don't use color too much, but I am amazed on the occasions when I do. Probably easily best in class color printing for an all in one IMO.
All controls to switch to the 610's four functions are controlled by a very intuitive and color control panel so you can toggle between fax, scan, copy and print with ease and select number of copies, whether you want color or b/w etc.
As far as negative issues I have experienced, the only two so far are in regard to the scanning function. Overall, scanning on this machine is an extremely slow process, which improves little with changing resolution. The other issue which happened once was that during scanning the auto feeder would pick up more than one sheet of paper. This has only happened to me when scanning and may have been related to the quality of paper I was using.
Overall, this workforce has been my workhorse --well worth it.
