vellav's Full Review: Escort Shifter ZR3 Radar Detector
I had the ZR3 laser shifter for about a half a year, honestly the most amazing thing I've ever owned. When I told people about it the first thing they do was give a little laugh. They would ask how much money I dropped on my "laser shifter" and radar detector. I drove with my best friend from Cleveland, Ohio to Hilton Head, South Carolina. It took 12 hours, we got hit with laser 4 times...everytime over 80, and pleased to say I havent got one ticket. My best friend was in shock. You need to make sure you don't get cocky, that was my problem. I almost got pulled over with a radar gun, my 8500 x50 went off with the KA instant on. Thankgod the person behind me was speeding. He got pulled over. I loved the thrill of driving past a cop and knowing I had power over him. I loved just goin out for a relaxing drive and not worrying about cops. What I did not like about the ZR3 was the price. Also it is a pain in the butt to switch cars, that is the reason I don't use it anymore because it is a pain in the butt to leave your car somewhere for a day, plus pay another 100-150 dollars. Overall If you can afford the product along with the 8500 x50 it works great and I would say go for it, just don't get cocky. Remember a radar detector's worst enemy INSTANT ON
