There are times you just want something to read
when you are sitting on the can and Esquire is one
of those magazines. This 140 page magazine uncovers
the latest trends in fashion, food and entertainment
and aims at the male gender namely me bombarding me
with Prada ads, Giorgio Armani and all the other
fashion that I can ill afford.
Why do I read this magazine?
1. Pictures: While the pictures aren't impressive
as GQ or other magazines..I do like the fashion
that Esquire models wear..namely Prada, Giorgio
Armani..so perhaps I can emulate or try to come
close as I can to what is trendy fashion
2. The length: 140 pages is not that difficult
to blow through to find that most interesting
tid bits and pictures.
3. Wacky info: What is the origin of the G
string. This is a question that has always
plagued me since adolescence. Apparently
the derivation of the word was from the English
who coined the term geestring in 1877 a shorter
version of an American Indian word used to denote
a thong holding loins in place or the loincloth
itself. This resolved a serious debate I had
with someone since he thought that the infamous
G-string was derived from stripteasers.
4. Points you out to fine dining: Now, I know
that the best matzoh ball soup can be found
in 2nd Avenue Deli in New York City. But I won't
start a mad rush to that place given the throngs
of jewish people that head to Chinatown for
decents eats.
5. Manly things: Article explores reasons why
men do the things they do. Why this infatuation
with sports? Why hunt? All these questions are
answered in full and uncensored versions.
6. Keeps you updated on celebrity affairs.
Omar Epps is dressed to kill in Yakuza fashion
getting ready to start in a Japanese-American
gangster film. Makes you want to kick some a..
Sigourney Weaver is also talked about. For
a fifty year old she looks absolutely great.
and I mean phenomenal.
Well that's all to report on this magazine...light
hearted..a breeze to read with some interesting
trivia. Take care and have a great day.
By the way it retails $3.00 on the magazine stand.
