Low Carb living can be a challenge and making sure you are getting all the nutrients you need and processing those minerals correctly is important. The Atkins Essential Oils Dietary supplements contain essential fatty acides to support and maintain good health. The supplement, which looks like a vitamin e pill, translusent yellow in color, contains borage, flaxseed ad fish oil to supply the body with quality Olega -3 andOmega -6 fatty acids. These supplements are specifically for those on low carb lifestyles and have been designed for optimum achievement.
The Atkins Essential Oils Dietary supplements are available available at Albertson's grocery as well as through the Atkins website and catalog. Other places, like GNC and health centers offer a wide varitey of Atkins products and other low carb products. I purchased mine at Albertsons,60 softgels for about $10. The atkins catalog lists prices at 60 for $12.74 or 120 for $23.79.
Why take them???
I have lost 30 pound so far and have just added in supplements a few weeks ago. I believe that the low carb lifestyle is a great choice for me, but I wondered if having supplements would make a difference in my overall health. I started taking the supplements after talking to the atkins people via the eight hundred number. (1-800-6-ATKINS) These supplements aids in cardiovascular health and continues to support normal cholesterol levels as well. I can not say that I have felt a huge impact on my health from taking these, but I do feel better about my lifestyle, knowing I am taking supplements to preserve and maintain my health.
I have had two friends who swear that taking supplements is vital no matter what diet lifestyle you choose and that because our food is so lacking in true nutrition through our processing, vitamins and supplements aid in nutritive health.
When do you take them?
Take two tablets a day, I use one tablet with breakfast and one with lunch.
Other important information
These tablets are carefully designed to be taken along with Atkins Basic 3 (multivitamin) and Dieters Advantage as well as Atkins Accel Thermogenic Formula. (Low carber would not take dieters advantage during the last stage, which is lifetime management and would not take Accel during induction when body is buring fat at a fast pace.)
Well, what is in it?
Now that I am reading labels so carefully, I even want to know what it is my vitamins and supplements. For those of us who care about this information:

Why Atkins brand over cheaper, more accessible brands?
The Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine has spent thirty (yes, 30) years observing and testing for these meds and stand by their products with pride. The Atkins line of supplements and vitamins are made with higher quality products, with no fillers of wax, sugar, artificial flavors and colors. There are also no hydrogenated oils, digestive yeast, corn, wheat, salt, sugar, starch or gluten in Atkins supplements. So, according to Atkins, the vitamins and minerals are supposed to be higher quality and definitely more appropriate for the low carber.
My recommendation
I recommend that for anyone who is committed to the low carb lifestyle that they consider giving two months to take the Basic # (Vitamin) Essential Oils and either the Dieters Advantage or Accel supplements. Within two months time, your body will be able to tell you whether it is responding positively to the supplements. I have only been on them for three weeks, and when I am on the three pills (inlcuding Dieters advantage) I feel better and it seems like my energy level is more consistent.
