When I go to the make-up counter at my local Belk's Department Store, I usually go up to the Clinique representative. My mother happened to be shopping with me, so she wanted to get her make-up at the Estee Lauder counter. While I was watching the saleslady demonstrate the different foundations to my mom, I asked to see what they offered in a concealer. When she handed me the maximum coverage camouflage make-up in a small purple tube, I thought to myself, this little bit of concealer could not last long! I also thought that the price of $25.00 was ridiculous since I had purchased a concealer previously from another product line at a lower price.

I hate to admit it, but it is definitely true in my case; as you get older it seems like everything wants to "grow on your face" and little tiny spider veins start to pop out on your chin. This is really more prominent in people with high blood pressure. And then there is the dark circles that seem to appear under my eyes, especially if I have been up late the night before! I honestly was considering just purchasing a paper bag and cutting out three holes for my eyes and my nose! just teasing! I would still be able to put food under the bag so that I could eat!


The shade of foundation that I choose was the creamy tan. I am rather fair complected, but I like a darker color on my face so that I do not look so pale. The saleslady advised me to use this sparingly and she was right! It only took a dab of concealer on each cheek, forehead and chin. This concealer is very lightweight and easily blended using my fingertips.It gave me an opaque coverage with a matte finish. I could not believe how well it concealed my tiny spider veins on my chin, and the dark circles under my eyes! It gave me a flawless finish with a smooth blend that decreased the shine! I like to set my make-up with a little translucent presses powder.

This concealer did not clog my pores. It offers a full nontransferable coverage for all skin types. By leaving a matte finish, it provides a perfect canvas for your make-up! I do not use the bronze colors or the different shimmers that are available. I just like a simple make-up that allows me to get ready in a short time and still look good. I mainly use a pressed powder and a little blush. The only other make-up I use is an eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. The most important thing to remember when buying a concealer is to get the right shade and do not over blend when you use it.

Estee Lauder maximum cover camouflage makeup has a SPF 15 and is waterproof and long-wearing. It is even recommended for surgical scars, birthmarks, sun spots and varicose veins! I must admit that it covers your skin imperfections wonderfully! Do not worry about the size of the tube only being one fluid ounce! You use such a small amount that it will lasts for several months. The six colors that they offer are golden ivory, golden vanilla, golden tan, creamy vanilla, creamy tan, and creamy ivory. This product is non-acnegenic, non-fragranced and dermatologist-tested. It may be removed with any facial skin cleansers.

Some things to remember is to use it sparingly, keep it out of your eyes and stop using it if your skin shows signs of any irritation. It is not recommended for use on infants under six months of age. I have really been happy with the coverage this concealer provides. I have notice that a little of it transfers to my shirt collar if I put on too much concealer. I would recommend this camouflage makeup to anyone that has any of the problems I have listed in this review. It is a little more expensive, but it really works and lasts a long time.
