Don't you just love it? Here's the scenario: You finally find THE perfect beauty product. The one you've been out on a mission for. Not just something you like but are truly excited about! You've tried just about everything and now you are tickled pink because the search is finally over. Or so you think! I turned 40 earlier this year (Shh! Don't tell anybody!) and have always made it my goal to look younger than my true age. One of my problem areas has always been the thin skin under the eyes as that's usually one of the first places that will give your tightly kept secret away. But a few months ago, I found this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream and it seemed like my quest was finally over. Not so fast as I went online to re-order (a beauty product does not pass the true test for me unless I'm willing to buy it again!), they've decided not to leave "well enough" alone! Read on to find out more about my current dilemma and what I plan on doing about it.
~~~The Eye Care Product~~~
Over the years, I've used other special eye care creams such as Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair and both the All About Eyes and All About Eyes Rich made by Clinque just to name a few. But after awhile, none of the above were continuing to provide the extra moisture this super dry and wrinkle-prone area deeply craved. So I decided to bite the bullet and pay a bit more to try something else that was normally out of my price range. I found this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream at their online store and it sounded just what I was looking for according to product advertising: "Significantly smoothes the look of your eye area with all the groundbreaking, targeted Cell Vector technology of Future Perfect face crèmes Smooth it on and instantly brighten the look of dark circles. Keep your skin perfectly hydrated Silky eye crème reduces the look of eye lines and wrinklesfast. You'll see a younger, more revitalized look return." How could you not be convinced by that?
I was finding that most other eye creams and serums I had used in the past seemed to begin to soak right in without treating the dryness and wrinkles that often remained. At first I tried using a more generous amount of the product, but then it would just "sit" on top of my skin. That won't work! So I truly was excited when my newest find impressively named Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream arrived at my door. This off white eye care product is fragrance free and appears thick and somewhat whipped in it's texture. Just lightly touch your clean finger inside the open-mouth jar for a small dab of the creamy product and apply gently to the under eye area for almost instant results. The eye cream seems to melt right into the skin once it reaches body temperature. It only took a few applications of the Future Perfect to notice the improvement of the overall appearance of my eye area. So far so good!

Ahhh! Here's where things start to get complicated. My rather small 0.5 ounce (15ml) jar of this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream surprisingly lasted several months of twice daily applications. So now it's finally time to reorder. Only when I go to the website, they've decided to change MY eye cream to something else! UGH. You've got to be kidding me? Why am I the least bit surprised? Now, as a replacement, they are offering a newly named product called Time Zone Anti Line/Wrinkle Eye Cream for $43.50 instead. That's similar to the price I paid (according to my order history at the Estee Lauder website, it was $42 back in May of this year when I first purchased it). Perhaps they've just changed the color of the jar, put a new name on it, and jacked up the price? In reality, this sounds quite probable. For the old Future Perfect eye cream was packaged in a round, silver jar with a gold lid and now this new Time Zone stuff comes inside a purple one. Still, it's really irritating to learn that a product I love has been changed or "improved" into something else! So now that my one and only jar of this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream is almost gone, I must soon decide if I'll buy into their newest marketing ploy.

As stated above, I have tried multiple other speciality eye care products from both the higher end department stores as well as the drugstore brands with mixed results. In my younger days, preventing wrinkles with a touch of moisture was the goal. Now that I want to treat and reduce the appearance of the ones I now have as well as hydrate the whizz out of my skin, any old eye cream will no longer do. So when trying this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream for the first time, I felt like I'd finally hit the jackpot! It's somewhat thick, rich and creamy consistency blended and absorbed quickly and fully into the moisture deprived thin skin under my eye area. It seemed to plump up the skin there, which made the smaller wrinkles seem to disappear and the larger ones appear less defined. Some eye creams irritate my sensitive eyes, but not this one. Once it fully soaks in after a few minutes, I can lightly apply foundation and/or concealer for an almost flawless look. I've had experience with other similar products going on white and STAYING white on top of my skin (which means they are a "no go" on make-up free days!), but not this one. It's rich and creamy enough to use both for daily and night time use. This eye cream provides plenty of extra hydration that maturing skin needs without it feeling heavy and greasy. But alas, this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream is now out of stock and I'm back to where I started from! I must say that I'm not amused :-(
~~~Overall Recommendation~~~
I suppose that I could recommend this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream until the cows come home, but it's not going to do neither you nor I a bit of good at this point. Unless you get lucky and find it on ebay or something, this product (at least in name only) seems to be gone for good. So here's my next choice: do I trust them despite the fact that they are obviously playing around with the names of their products just to get shoppers to try something new? In all honesty, I must now confess that I have been using their Time Zone facial lotion for awhile now and it really is awesome stuff (and yes, I've already passed the "re-order" test on this one as well!). Only recently it seems like they started advertising the Time Zone eye cream as well but I just assumed it was something new and not offered as a replacement for something else. If I still had my ingredients list for the Future Perfect, I'd certainly compare the two and see how similar (or not so similar) they truly are. But I don't as I mistakenly assumed (again!) that I could always access a list online. Yeah, that was kinda dumb. In the end, my final decision will most likely be this (after all, a woman always has the right to change her mind at the last minute! LOL): now that this Estee Lauder Future Perfect Anti-Wrinkle Radiance Eye Cream is no longer available, the logical next move seems to be taking them at their word and trying the Time Zone. Of course I'll be paying a bit more for the newer upgraded product (that's always a given!), grumbling and complaining about it sure won't get me anywhere. After all, stress and frowning will only lead to more wrinkles, right? In conclusion, while I give the old product five stars and would re-order if possible, that's not an option. So I'm off to try the Time Zone eye cream as a replacement. Wish me luck! Happy online beauty product shopping :-)
