I purchased the SurfaceMax 300 Vacuum Cleaner - Model 2976AVG when I had Yellow Fever. I purchased a yellow truck and even went as far as yellow kitchen appliances, yellow curtains, and briefly, a yellow vacuum cleaner. $90 bucks and some change, it was like my nice yellow life... and trust me, as an Asian-American, yellow everything becomes like jaundice very fast!

Onto the SurfaceMax 300 Vacuum Cleaner - Model 2976AVG, all of the specifications are available at the Eureka website at http://www.eureka.com/SurfaceMax300-2976AVZ-upright-vacuum. Since I am an emotional buyer where I buy more based on my mood and on whim, I want what I want when I want it - no science involved. Since I am also obviously hard-headed, if I would have thought about the practicality of this appliance or even read a review, I would not have purchased this vacuum cleaner. I only did it for the color! I swear!
The SurfaceMax 300 Vacuum Cleaner - Model 2976AVG for a very short period of less than a week, had an advantage, although minor, if anything at all. As an allergy sufferer, the only redeeming quality that this Eureka vacuum cleaner may have had besides its yellow color is the fact that it comes with a HEPA filter that purportedly removes 99.97% of dust, allergens and pet dander. However, with a vacuum clenaer with minimum suction ability as the SurfaceMax 300 Vacuum Cleaner - Model 2976AVG, 99.97% of what does get picked up through suction isn't that much, and would certainly not prevent an attack for anyone with allergies. It has some other functions and capabilities, which in less than one week didn't really experience too much. Some reviews complain of the quirky design at other review sites, but I didn't really experience the purported design defects I just wasn't very impressed by a $90 plus duster, even if it was cute in the yellow hell I had created. I actually didn't need the HEPA filter anyway in a vacuum cleaner since I have air conditioning in my apartment, am single and don't have a pet anymore since my building doesn't allow them and maintain a clean place. I work in an office and live in City limits so my chances of tracking dirt through my pad are a nullity.
Needless to say, the need for $40 extra bucks caused a quick exchange of the vacuum cleaner for a $50 Dirt Devil I just love that I purchased at K-Mart (Did I actually admit that? J/K!) with suction capability that practically lifts the carpeting off of the floor! Hmmm..... oops - can't talk about those ideas!
Who cares if I have to purchase vacuum cleaner bags? I get them at the 99 cent store! And as for all yellow... yellow is for the birds! I have replaced the yellow curtains with vertical blinds and gave the yellow kitchen appliances away (they weren't that many since I never cook). Yellow truck too expensive to give and paid for so why sell and acquire another debt?
And as for me, I am constantly changing my mind about what it is I want and what I think looks good at the then time. If I could only start making educated purchases and plan a workable budget... but, it'll never happen! My whims are just that and I live for them... or they live for me anyway! And if I can help just one person to THINK before they buy, it is worth it for me, even if I never take my own advice! Don't be hard-headed. Even a person with pets and different surfaces in the home who could take advantages of the features that this vacuum supposedly does offer, the suction ability to lift dirt off of carpet leaves alot to be desired.
The mere fact thata Eureka is made by Electrolux is meaningless. If you have a family, invest in something really good and spend a couple to few hundred bucks, or if you are single like me and aren't in need of a multi-purpose semi professional machine, my $50 Dirt Devil could run circles around the SurfaceMax 300 Vacuum Cleaner - Model 2976AVG.
