Schhh, Small price may scare the competition into cardiac arrest.
GENTLEMEN START YOUR VACUUMS!!! LADIES WELCOME TOO!!!
"Limited edition no-less". All of us men need to contribute some labor to the household. Men this could be your secret weapon just don't let the woman in you life see how well this well engineered canister works. I bought this machine after recommendation and demo at a specialty vacuum cleaner shop. I wanted a suction generator that was relatively quiet, light weight, powerful, large dust bag capacity, versatile, with well designed tools. I paid a little too much but you can find it on the web for less.
Vacuum lovers do it with negative pressure and sensitivity.
This Eureka even has an old electrolux design style suction control ring and bent tube just where you want it and that is where the tools and suction extension tubes (2 supplied) attach. The suction control ring is needed as sometimes "The Boss" suctions too agressively and needs to be attenuated by rotating the suction control ring open. The suction control ring is just an air leak that reduces the negative pressure (i.e. suction) at the end tool.
FYI: This suction control is exactly like that of my dad's circa 1953 electrolux suction only type vacuum cleaner. The 1953 electrolux was a hummer. The Boss is louder but not a screamer. Electrolux is now the parent company of subdivision Eureka and the Electrolux pedigree has rubbed off on the Boss. The Boss is just about the equal of that 1953 electrolux, which is saying alot, as the 1953 electrolux is a King Tiger of suction only canister vacuums and a bombproof machine. The Boss just doesn't pop open for you when its dust bag is full, like that 1953 lux (virtually asking "change my bag please").
Don't be fooled!
Powerful suction only machines can really stomp! The Boss with full on suction can suck a nasty dust footprint right off a carpet runner with the wheeled carpet/hard floor suction tool.
The corner tool is notched to prevent grabbing, the wide carpet/hard floor head has wheels and rubber suction components underneath, designed to work on hard floors and carpets and does both equally well within the limits of suction only machines. No beater bars but I don't want to beat up my carpets anyway. Note: With the large carpet/hard floor tool you can steer it around furniture edges by turning the angled suction control grip. It is nice to be able to suction to the very edge of any object.
The corner tool stores in the body of the machine actually inside the handle and they also supply a slightly odd shaped 2 port tool that also stores on the rear of the machine. Get a separate camelshair suction bush to use instead of that strange supplied tool. Nothing is perfect.
The Machine can store vertically or horizontally on its 3 wheels (one in front, 2 large rear in back). The exhaust is open even when standing vertically so this machine can be used easily in tight spaces. It sits nicely on stairs as well. The built in power cord is very long (about 18 feet) does not autoretract, you wrap it around two points on the bottom. Foot pressure on and off switch is on the top front of the machine. The machine body is a red glossy plastic and looks, sounds and feels solid. The corrugated plastic main hose is very crush resistant and with the two supplied thick walled plastic tubes has long reach. This is some serious kind of machine.
The rotating attachment point on the hose may eventually wear out but that will take some doing. There is also a blower port on the back for inflating large low resistance stuff (you supply the connector). Last but not least one can outfit the final exhaust with a HEPA (high efficiency particulate air) filter for some improvement in the quality of the exhausted air. I suspect that the external hepa filter is most likely an afterthought marketing idea. Haven't used it with the hepa filter or as an inflater. An accessory shoulder strap is sold separately for those who want one. The machine is quite light in weight.
