With two toddlers and a long haired cat, our house could always use a quick pick me up. I was thrilled to get the Euro-Pro Shark Stick Vacuum and thought it would be so simple to clean all 3 floors of our house (all hardwood floors). The plan: sweep the whole house top to bottom 2-3 times a week.

Well, the vacuum is simple, but the battery only lasts long enough for me to sweep one floor at a time. Then it needs a full 8 hours to recharge so I can clean another floor. My house isn't enormous (under 2000 sq ft so each floor is around 650 sq ft); the battery is just that pitiful. So with my initial plan, I would now have to pull the vacuum out daily and do one floor every single day. Not the easiest thing to find time for when working full time and minding 2 children.
I have owned it for 6 months now and have noticed that the brush often stops spinning. It still picks up most dust, hair and debris, but if you go over an area rug, all of the cat hair that was swept up and stuck to the brush will be pulled out and left on your rug. Lovely. I had been very careful to clean the brush out after every single use to keep it from getting clogged, but something in the turning mechanism must have broken because it now just sits there.
I have also had the two small wheels at the back of the vacuum break. They pop out regularly, and have become yet another source for hair and debris to get caught up, instead of gettins swept up.
If you plan to use this once or twice a week to sweep your kitchen, it will be great. If you plan to use it more often, or if you plan to sweep a larger space, it is definitely not the vacuum for you.
