Pros: Cheaper (barely)
Cons: Very long lines, poor quality cars with bad upkeep, poor service
The Bottom Line: Europcar should be avoided at nearly all costs. The miniscule savings over other companies come at a high cost in other areas.

| bjwhite00's Full Review: Europcar |
We decided to rent a car from Europcar for our week-long trip to Italy July, 2007. It was a little cheaper than the standard car-rental companies and we purchased our airfare through them, so it seemed a simple decision.
We arrived to the FCO airport car rental area only to find throngs of people sitting, standing, and smelling in every direction surrounding the rental area. We found out that they were all waiting for Europcar. We waited 2 hours in line. We were then directed to the garage, where luckily, our car was ready. We talked to others who were waiting another 1 hour+ in the garage for their reserved car.
We received a substandard Chevrolet which could barely make it up a hill (our friends using other companies all recieved better cars for their money and received them in a timely manner). We later discovered our antenna was broken and one of our brake lights was out.
We have now been charged $30 for something that I have yet to clear up with Europcar. We were told everything was fine upon returning the car.
Under no circumstances will we use Europcar again. Spend a little extra money and use Hertz, Avis or the like. It will be well worth it.
