When my son outgrew the harness of his convertible car seat, my husband and I bought 2 Evenflo Big Kid’s LX Booster Car Seats. I had done some research and had made a list of my “must have” features I was looking for.

My list included:
1) A full back and armrests: I had read that low- or no-back boosters don’t provide great support for the sleeping child and many children end up “slumped” to the side when they fall asleep.
2) Ability to grow with the child: Since the recommended age for booster seats has been increased, I wanted a seat that my son wouldn’t outgrow in a year or two.
3) Cup holders
With the Evenflo Big Kid’s LX Booster Car Seat, I got everything on my list, including slide out cup/snack holders on both sides of the seat. The armrests are adjustable and pivot up and down. One of our car seats even has reading lights on both sides of the head rest, which is a great feature for those little passengers who either fall asleep the minute it gets dark or are afraid the dark. The cover can be removed for washing. The back of the car seat can be removed to convert it into a backless booster.
The Evenflo Big Kid’s LX Booster Car Seat is very light weight, which makes it easy to move to a different vehicle if needed, but makes it slightly unstable when you child is trying to climb into the seat. I have noticed when my son is not in the seat and I make a sharp turn, the car seat moves out of place and I have to reposition it every time we need to use it. I don’t know if it is the way my son gets into his car seat, but the cover keeps coming unhooked on the actual seat portion. I have only noticed this happening on one of our seats, so it may not be a widespread problem.
The Evenflo Big Kid’s LX Booster Car Seat is well priced for the features it offers making it an affordable option.
