| JENNI1396's Full Review: Evenflo SuperSaucer Activity Center |
My 6 month old daughter, Jordan is growing out of her swing, so after reading many reviews here on epinions about all the exersaucers I decided it was time to go out and buy one. I went to Toys R' Us and found the Evenflo Supersaucer for $64.99 and a $5.00 off coupon. I even bought it with one of my epinions checks.
When my husband and I got it home we set it up immediately. Only thing we had to put together was the seat and put a few of the toys on were they belong on the playing area. It was easy to assemble, had it up in a few minutes. Now came the test to see if Jordan like it. We put her in and immediately she let out a squeal of delight, bouncing up and down and examining her new toys.
There are 8 toys in all and a mirror (Jordan loves looking in it at herself, what can I say she is a girl). The seat, mine has a seat cover that is blue with red, green, yellow and blue triangles and squares (actually I think all are the same color) can move 360 degrees. Jordan loves to move to each toy and play with it for a few minutes before turning to the next. The base is red and can be left stationary by using the 3 blue stands attached to the bottom. The base can also be used to rock in, it does not rock to fast but gently. Jordan loves to bounce around a lot so she gets it rocking. The top of the playing area is wide enough to put a few extra toys on. The tray is easy to clean with warm soapy water, a few of the toys are harder to clean (train and turning dial). I wouldn't get the music ball to wet (clean with damp cloth)or it will ruin the mechanism inside. The seat covering can be taken off and thrown in the wash. The seat has 3 adjustable heights. To adjust the seat push the buttons that are on the supports to move it up or down. It says the exersaucer is to be used only when babies can hold up heads on their own.
THE TOYS
Water Globe, is a plastic bubble with water, different colors of confetti and a yellow star, green frog and blue crab (are flat plastic shapes) inside. It is secured by a pink plastic piece that you put over the sides and locks into place.
Ball Cylinder has tiny, different colored (yellow, red and green) balls inside that move all over when moved. Jordan loves this one, hits the cylinder and laughs as the balls tumble all over. It is attached to the tray with a metal rod that goes through the cylinder and has slots to put it on the playing tray.
The toy arch is a blue arch with 4 rings (pink, orange, blue and green) that go on the bar and baby can move them from one side to the other. It is secured in place by two slots the arched bar fits into.
Turning dial comes with a sticker you put on the base of the dial, has pictures of a car, boat, ball, square, triangle and helicopter) on it. The pictures are different colors consisting of blue, red, green and yellow. After you have the sticker on put the plastic green piece with holes cut out so when turned baby can see the pictures. The blue handle is then screwed on to secure the dial on the playing area.
Teether is a blue object with different textures that is attached on by a green plastic tube. It moves when baby pulls it down to soothe their gums. It is flexible and bendable.
The train consists of 3 plastic cars (blue, green and orange) attached onto a metal bar that baby can move back and forth. The metal bar is attached onto the playing tray by putting it into slots on the tray.
There are 3 hard plastic wheels (purple, green and blue) attached onto the tray by a metal bar. The wheels look like weights, large and puffed out. I do not like these at all. They do not move to well at all, you try to move it and it moves around for a second.
Musical ball is blue and attached onto the tray. When hit it plays music for about 10 seconds, has 3 tiny holes on it that light up when music is playing.
I use the exersaucer when I need to make a call or doing chores. Since she does not like her playpen to much anymore it is a great way to keep her near me (cries if she can't see me) while doing dishes, laundry and cooking. Jordan enjoys playing with her toys, bouncing, rocking in her new toy.
It is made of a durable hard and soft plastic. It is on the expensive side, unless you find it on sale. I recommend it to all new parents when it comes time for them to move out of a swing. It is great for building leg muscles by bouncing, hand and eye coordination with the toys, learn how things react when hit or moved. It keeps mommy and daddy sane so you can do work while baby is kept entertained.
