We bought this seat in March 2005. The ratings showed it #2 behind the Britax. The price was about $75 less so we figured our daughter would be just fine in the #2.

At 5 months old she was outgrowing her infant seat. Using this seat rear-facing was kind of a pain; as some reviews say it is somewhat difficult to turn the knob to adjust the belts. However we only used it rear-facing a few months and the majority of the use of this seat is forward facing.
This seat is very comfy; there are lots of pads and things that can be removed as your child grows. After testing out some of the other car seat straps, this one does make it easy to tighten because of the knob - just about every other one on the market has a strap that you pull on - which can be difficult if you don't have the leverage.
It has a cup holder which is a nice feature. My daughter seems happy in this seat. One thing that can be a little annoying is the 'double' straps that another reviewer mentioned... You need to ensure your child puts their arm through both straps, not just one, or you'll get tangled up. Also at 27 lbs. 36 inches it is getting harder to put my 2-year old in and out - the straps seem short.
