The Bottom Line: If you're looking to get drunk, this is one of the better ways to do it. If you're looking for flavor or something with history, look elsewhere.

I have to give this 5 stars because it does exactly what the label would make you think it does. A previous writer suggested this was “one of the strongest alcohols you can buy” – I have never seen anything stronger, myself.
This is 190 proof. It is almost entirely alcohol. What little in the beverage that is not alcohol is probably the various chemicals that lead to horrible hangovers. I don’t know too many people that don’t get hangovers with this, although whether that is because of they consume more alcohol with this then with a standard hard alcohol like whiskey I don’t know.
Either way you must realize that this is pure alcohol. As such it is very dangerous! I think it takes about 20 shots of a normal alcohol to end up in a hospital (I’m not a doctor, this is what I seem to remember in reading newspapers). That means it only takes 8 with Everclear. So keep that in mind as you’re drinking. One shot is good for at least two hours, and probably more.
Like a previous writer, I tried this stuff straight once. You can drink it straight, but remember that one shot is equivalent to about 2.5 shots of a normal hard liquor like Jack Daniels. To me it tasted like other hard alcohols, really – a strong burning. This one was just stronger, and burned all the way down. It takes exactly 3 seconds to start to feel a buzz (I timed it). I suspect it dissolves in your tongue or something. Anyway, the shot is so numbing that additional shots will probably not burn. If you hear about people that die drinking this stuff, it is because of this problem. Eight shots will send you to the hospital, and if you are crazy it doesn’t take long to do eight shots.
Everclear also leads to horrendous hangovers. Drinking it straight led to a very poor day the next day with dry heaves and everything else. I really don’t think I had more then two total shots, either, and like I said, a long hangover.
This product’s real use is as a mixer. When put in Cool-Aid or other beverages you will not taste it. One bottle will go very far at a party. But again, you must be aware that a one or two shots will add plenty of kick to a few gallons. A previous reviewer also indicated that he had two cups of Everclear-laced Cool-Aid and remembers nothing else except for waking up the next day. Try to do your fellow partiers a favor and don’t make it so strong. They’ll thank you in the morning.
Like I said, this product does what the label says it does. It’s not aged in oak for taste, and it’s not some fruity fizzy thing sold at Wal-Mart. It is pure alcohol, and remember this when you use it. You can kill yourself with Jack Daniels, too. Use this sparingly and it is great.
