Everclear is the most potent alcohol I have ever put into my system, but it's also some of the best.
I can only describe the taste as liquid fire. There is no aftertaste that can be discerned, as you are too busy trying to locate something to chase it with. Due to the proof, I would not advise doing straight shots of it (even if you could stand the taste straight), as you will be passed out on the floor if you do more than a couple.
Everclear is best used in Jello shots and in punches. The original Jungle juice was created WAY back at my college, and has both Everclear and regular vodka, along with Gatorade, rum-soaked fruit, and three kinds of juices. Everclear is great in these drinks, because when it is mixed, it packs quite an alcoholic punch while becoming a lot more palatable.
Essentially, Everclear is for the college crowd. They are the only ones who desire to reach the level of intoxication that it will provide. I suppose it could be used in "normal" mixed drinks, but a nice high quality "regular" vodka would taste much better.
