Pros: Very easy on batteries, colorful, great designs.
Cons: Cord isn’t adjustable, expensive for a kids flashlight.
The Bottom Line: Unless you are a complete Disney addict or come across these on sale, opt for the cheaper non-waterproof, disposable flashlights.

| Freak369's Full Review: Eveready Disney Waterproof Flashlight |
When it comes to kids flashlights you want something that will be easy for them to turn off and on, easy to grip and hold on to and has a relatively good battery life. The Eveready Disney Waterproof Flashlight assortment are all these things .. with a few extra perks. The one thing that I love about these is that they operate on two AA sized batteries and the batteries last about five hours of solid use; we learned that first hand when we had a power outage recently and used these instead of candles since it was so incredibly hot to begin with. Thanks to the lanyard cord thats attached to the bottom of the flashlight I was able to hang these around the house and not have to worry about someone knocking over a candle or one of the animals burning a snout, paw or that dreaded scent of burnt fur wafting trough the house. I am looking forward to using these with the younger kids this Halloween because you know exactly what Annabelle is going to be .. a pretty pink princess.
Eveready Disney Waterproof Flashlight
These are available in three nifty, eye catching designs so there is bound to be one that strikes a chord with your child. Let the nagging, pestering, whining and pleading begin
this will only be compounded when you see the suggested retail price of these a whopping $7.99. Yes, that is indeed correct and not a typographical error; seven dollars and ninety nine cents. This is a kid oriented flashlight easy to grip and hold on to, colorful with familiar characters and themes, slide off and on control, woven lanyard wrist cord everything a parent could want for their little munchkin
that is, if you are prepared to pay that hefty suggested retail price for them.
Winnie The Pooh
The Winnie The Pooh flashlight is a nice bright yellow with purple and orange accents. The wrist cord has the cutest little plastic honey pot on the end of it, something that immediately caught my eye! Im usually not a fan of the color yellow but I couldnt pass getting this one for my niece a hard core Pooh addict that squealed liked a stuck pig when she saw it for the first time. On the reverse side is no one else but Tigger! Why they didnt give him his own flashlight is beyond me because hes certainly trolled around in Winnie The Poohs shadow long enough.
Disney Princess
If pink is your thing then this is the flashlight for you! This was a great pick for Annabelle since she flips out for anything Princess related. On the lanyard theres a small star that really adds that princess feel to it, great for those queens in training if you catch my drift. Since these arent heavy at all, they can wear them on their wrists without it weighing them down or cutting into their skin. There are three images of the Disney Princesss on one side and the scripted word princess on the other
too cute I tell you, too cute!
Mickey Mouse
The photo that is listed with this product is the Mickey Mouse one, but to look at the photo you wouldnt know that. On the front side you have Mickey with a caution sign and on the reverse side various construction symbols. This one if a great pick for the little builders that love to destroy stuff and rebuild it or those who are in to the whole Bob The Builder scene. The textured body means that even small hands can grip it and hold on to it, even when wet, sticky or covered in peanut butter and jelly.
Things To Know
In addition to these flashlights, you can also pick up some nifty other ones from the Eveready / Disney partnership. One of the cutest ones has to be the soft plastic sculpted Boo from Monsters, Inc. but you can also pick from Buzz Lightyear, squeezie Winnie The Pooh characters and a very cute line of disposable novelty flashlights. These cost about four to five dollars [more when purchased online] and can usually be found in the camping section, toy aisles or at the front check out area of places like Wal-Mart and Target.
While they, Eveready, say that these are waterproof, that doesnt mean that they are for use under water simply put you cant go scuba diving with these but they will stand up to a moderate amount of rain or the occasional spilled soda. They are waterproof to the degree that they will repel water but dont go dunking them in the pool. On the package it says that it is waterproof up to three feet thats like saying you are sort of pregnant its either waterproof or it isnt and in this case it will handle small amounts but anything more than that and it is ruined.
The Bottom Line
Ill admit it, when I saw the price of $4.99 I almost fell over the flashlights I have for general house use dont even cost that much! To make matters worse the online stores that are selling these [Amazon.com as a prime example] are charging about eight dollars .. for a kids flashlight .. eight dollars. I still cant get over that. Still, I know what it is like to have a child that is into a certain character or theme and the pains that a parent goes through to appease them. On the plus side these are really good on batteries, can be used over and over again, bulbs can be replaced and the texturing on them makes them easy to hold to for the little ones. The Eveready name is one that you can trust but with the added Disney marketing, the prices on these are through the roof the basic ones from Eveready are about two dollars, a huge difference for some molded plastic and a cute lanyard cord
As always, thanks for the read!
