| erin5oaks's Full Review: Everwarm Merrino Wool Thermal Underwear |
I came back this evening from chaperoning nature camp a "happy camper" because I was warm and toasty in my Everwarm Merrino Wool Thermal Underwear on all of my hikes in cold and dreary south eastern Ohio.
I received several pieces of thermal clothes from Everwarm over the years as gifts and they have been well used and appreciated.
One of the biggest reasons I love them is because they keep me very warm. I think most people know that wool helps keep moisture away from your skin which cotton clothing does not. Unlike other wool pieces I have owned the long johns, long sleeve shirt, and union suit have never been itchy or scratchy one time. They are very soft and comfortable.
I used to hate the fact that I had to get them dry cleaned. I now purchase the dry cleaning kits from the grocery store whenever they are on sale. This saves me much money when cleaning my Everwarm thermal pieces. I do this every three or four times I wear one.
Another thing I like is that each piece is not bulky. This is very important to me when skiing, hiking, or working my weekend job at Airborne Express. I need the full range of motion and when I am wearing this pieces even when layered.
Each piece that I own comes in a different muted shade. I like these outdoorsy colors. There has been no fading even though they have each been cleaned dozens of times.
Many of my friends wear Everwarm undergarments and we range from extra small to extra large in size. My reaction is the same as theirs that they are true to size maybe even generous.
The only drawback that still remains is that they are expensive. I would tell you though that they will not have to be replaced. If you could buy one long sleeve undershirt, pair of long johns, or union suit (did I just admit to the world that I wear union suits?) this would be the one to buy. None of the pieces show any sign of wear. I believe each piece is around 50 dollars. I didn't purchase them. Lucky for me they were gifts.
It is certainly worth checking out their website at www.everwarm.co.nz. You might want to try one of the other pieces with which I have not had any experience. If you own any pieces and want to share a story with me feel free to drop me a line.
I was a little apprehensive about taking my job at Airborne until I actually got out my winter clothes and saw my Everwarm Merrino Wool Underwear. They have never let me down and I am sure they won't let you down either.
