The epinion photo of Excedrin Migraine jumped out at me and nearly scared the living daylights out of me. Let me explain.

I recently wrote an opinion on Dailyedeals.com. I have received numerous samples through this website, one of them being the Excedrin Migraine. I received a small sample packet of two tablets and placed it in the medicine cabinet for when I got one of my aching and throbbing headaches.
It did not take too long for that headache to arrive. I knew I did not have a migraine, but I figured, this is an over the counter product and I couldn't see how it would really be specifically targeted for migraines. So I took the two whopping sized round pills at about 9 P.M. Then, there was no turning back.
I cannot really say that this wiped out my headache completely. When I take Aleve cold and sinus or Advil, I feel the weight is lifted off of my head. I did not get to experience that feeling of relief with Excedrin Migraine. I stayed up until about 12:00. But I wouldn't be asleep for long.
I woke up at 3 a.m. and felt as if I had acid burning through my entire stomach. It was as if my stomach lining was being seared and torn. It is hard to explain such an uncomfortable stomach pain. I wondered if I had eaten properly before taking this medication. I guess I should have investigated this product more thoroughly, but I am sure the Aspirin content is extremely high for people like myself with sensitive stomachs. The funny thing is, I had eaten.
So I got up and ate a few crackers.
Woke up again at 4:00 and just couldn't take it anymore.
O.k., not only does this medication contain mega doses of Aspirin, but it has got to contain caffeine, because I just cannot stay asleep.
Got up and took Pepto Bismol. I figured this will coat my stomach and make this pain go away. I should have just stuck with the headache. It wasn't even so bad.
I woke up once and for all early in the morning. I was contemplating whether I should keep plans with a girlfriend of mine. I take a look at my face in the mirror. Check my tonsils to see if they are swollen (they had been irritating me earlier).
MY TONGUE WAS BLACK.
What would you do if you're tongue was black? I never saw anything so horrible. I rushed to the bathroom to scrub away this hideous invasive black substance on my tongue.
I didn't know what to do so I called my friend. I was too embarrassed to even say that I had a black tongue. I told her there were little specks on my tongue. She then said,
"I once took pepto bismol and my tongue turned black."

"SO DID MINE!!!!!!!!"
What did I do to myself?
If anyone has any explanation as to what ingredients were interacting and why it caused the dreaded, "Black Tongue", please, please comment below.
Well friends, there is a moral to this story. Read the bottle of medication for any warnings BEFORE you take the medicine. NOT AFTER!!!!!! In case you are interested, the actual active ingredients in Excedrin Migraine are just as I had suspected:
A friend of mine told me that Excedrin Migraine knocks out her headaches instantly. In all fairness to this product, I would like to include that information. I hold myself responsible for the unpleasant events that occurred after taking this product. So not only did I find that Excedrin Migraine was not effective on my headache, I also learned a hard lesson about just how potentially dangerous even over the counter medications can be.
Here are my final recommendations:
1. Eat plenty of food before taking Excedrin Migraine.
2. Do not take Excedrin Migraine too close to bedtime due
to its high caffeine content.
3. Pepto Bismol may cause "darkening" of the tongue.
I lived it. Believe it.
Update: Roxymarie has notified me that at the very bottom of the Pepto Bismol bottle, it says pepto bismol may cause a harmless temporary darkening of the stool or tonuge. So, this "Black Tongue Syndrome is not caused by mixing Excedrin with Pepto Bismol. But, it also states that if Pepto Bismol is taken with aspirin, it can cause ringing of the ears. I give up!!!!!!!!!!!!
