| uglybugg's Full Review: Extra Strength Tylenol GoTabs |
I spent the weekend with my friend at an outdoorswoman event. We giggled all night and worked hard out in the cold all weekend. Too little sleep, many adult beverages, followed by an early Monday morning meeting with the car salesman and a too tight ponytail all combined to create a killer headache.
I had to stop at Walgreens to get something to ease my pain in order to get thru the rest of my errands and make the long ride home. I was hoping to find a trial size bottle or one of those single dose packs like you get at 7-11 but could find neither. I did, however, find Tylenol Go Tabs in the trial size section and decided to give them a try.
A package of six chewable Go Tabs cost $3.50. Each tab is enclosed in a plastic blister that is covered with paper. To release the tab just peel up a corner of the paper and rip it off. Each blister is perforated around the edges so that one or more tabs can be separated from the pack.
Tylenol Go Tabs contain the same active ingredient as regular Tylenol 500 mg of Acetaminophen in each tab. The only difference is that they are chewable and dont require water to wash them down with and they contain small amounts of sugars and sodium. Go Tabs are to be used just like regular Tylenol for headache, muscle aches, backache, arthritis, colds, toothache, menstrual cramps, and as a fever reducer.
Dosage: for adults and kids over 12 chew 2 tabs every 4 to 6 hours and do not exceed 8 tabs in a 24-hour period. It should not be given to children under 12 years of age.
My Experience
The checkout line was long. My head hurt so bad that I couldnt wait so I ripped open the package of Go Tabs while waiting for the four other customers to check out. The directions stated that I should chew 2 tabs. I usually take 400-600 mg of acetaminophen when I have a headache so I started with one. The blister was easy to remove from the rest of the pack. The paper peeled easily from the blister to reveal a large, mint green colored tab. I popped it into my mouth and began to chew. The taste was OK not good like but not horrible either. Sort of like a minty antacid and slightly medicinal. It was not offensive but I was glad that I also bought some bottled water and cracked that open while waiting in line and took a long swig. The consistency was soft but not chewy. The aftertaste is a bit unpleasant but not awful and the headache was completely gone within half an hour. Im glad I tried Go Tabs and will carry them with me for those times when Im in pain but dont have any water with which to wash down a regular pain reliever.
