My neighbors don’t work out. I’m not sure why they decided to start with the E-Z Chin Up Bar, Push Up Bar and Sit Up Bar but they did. It’s an interesting though not terribly effective piece although the price is right coming in at around $45.00. Note: there are many chin up bars for your door. The one I am reviewing is specifically the Ez Up Over The Door, Chin Up Bar, Push Up Bar and Sit Up Bar. A Complete Power Gym.

What it is

What the E-Z Complete Power System is designed for is the person who wants (in theory) to work their back, chest and abdominal area with one inexpensive, cheaply made gizmo.

How it works

How it works is simple. The E-Z Complete Power System hangs over the door. In the case of my neighbors it is clear that this gizmo is leaving marks on their wood door. I wouldn’t suggest putting this on a door that you car about! There is padding but the gizmo makes contact with the door. Unless you are very light and are putting very little weight on the E-Z bar it will make marks. The positive; however, is that unlike other bars this doesn’t have to be screwed into the door.

This E-Z Complete System does not have handles in the middle like others you may see. I really don’t think the handles make a huge difference but I haven’t tried a chin up bar with that feature.

Using the E-Z System

The box that my neighbors had said that it will hold up to 300 pounds. The man of the couple is close to that and he tried it once and thought he’d pull it down. I didn’t have a problem but I’m much lighter. I wouldn’t consider buying this if you are not a light weight.

A positive is that I was told it was simple to put together and can be disassembled to take with them. Then again they would have to put it on someone else’s door and run the risk of making marks. It only weighs five pounds.

It comes with an exercise guide though I think it’s fairly straightforward but some may not how to use this for the ab work out.

I then took it off to use it as the Push Up Bar part of this system. I put it off the floor and immediately realized that I was confined as to how close or wide I wanted my hands. The reason to even use something like the E-Z Complete System for push ups is if you have trouble with hand pain. I do but a couple of light weights to hold will work. It’s just a matter of taking pressure off my hands. Otherwise I really don’t see why I would want to use the E-Z System for push ups.

Finally it is supposed to be a Sit Up Bar. I do crunches. I’ll do them alone by sitting on the floor or with apparatus. What I won’t do is the old fashioned sit ups where someone holds your feet or you put your feet under the couch. In my opinion that’s a back operation waiting to happen so this part of the System is a waste.
