Ezra Fumes Power My Car

Pros:Flavor and quality
Cons:Finish is a little harsh for 90 proof
Well....not really. But now that I’ve got you hear let me tell you about this fine bourbon.
Ezra Brooks has deep caramel color that gives you a prelude to its fine flavor and finish.
Ezra’s flavor is deep and has more substance than many of the non “small batch” bourbons. The flavor indicates that quality barrels are used in the barreling process. I enjoy the flavor of this bourbon over most of the other sour mashes out there (sour mash indicated that a portion of the prior day’s mash is used in the fermentation process).
The finish is one area on which I have to fault Ezra. Ezra Brooks is 90 proof, and unlike many other higher proof bourbons, you can tell it. The finish is a little too harsh for a 90 proof bourbon. But then again being priced at Aprx. $15 a bottle it is better than it might be.
Another good point about Ezra Brooks is that it is corked not capped. I see this as a strong indication of quality. I am always concerned that the use of a cap will affect flavor and quality.
