My one year old granddaughter loves rubber duckies in all shapes and sizes. This inspired me to purchase the Amscan Rubber Ducky Value Pack from Factory Card and Party Outlet. These can be used for decorating, gift baskets, party favors, or bathtub toys.

This value package of rubber duckies contains 18 mini rubber duckies. Each little duck measures approximately 1 3/4 inches wide and tall, by approximately 1 1/2 inches long. They are recommended for children over the age of 18 months old, however my granddaughter enjoyed playing with them when she was just under a year old. We never had any problems with her playing with them, although I would recommend that children under 3 be closely supervised during playtime because these are quite small, and may present a choking hazard for very young children if not well supervised.

She enjoyed holding them and passing them back and forth from one hand to the other. This was a fun way for her to develop this skill. She also enjoyed chewing on them, which helped with teething. Her chewing action apparently massaged her gums, helping with teething pain. Even though she chewed on them often, there was never any sign of wear from her teething. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for when the puppy got hold of one and chewed on it. That one needed to be discarded.

These little ducks are made in China. They are bright yellow in color, with facial features painted on. They have bright orange bills and black eyes. Although it does not detract much from the overall appearance, or from the fun and usability of these ducks, the painted parts are not neat and tidy in appearance. The colors are a bit sloppy, as if someone had painted them in a hurry. I doubt that any of the kids noticed this, and it isn't really that noticeable when used for decorations or whatever. I only notice when I examined individual ducks closely. I certainly wouldn't consider this to be a deal breaker though.

Playing with these duckies in the bathtub can be fun for little ones too, although they do not float upright like I had hoped. They float well, but there is no way to keep them in an upright position, so if you want to use them for something such as decorating the top of a fish tank or punch bowl, these don't work well for this. My granddaughter didn't seem to mind that they were overturned though. They were still a fun addition to her bathing experience.

My three year old granddaughter enjoys them as well. She enjoys counting the duckies, and counts very well now. There are other games the kids play together as well, such as telling what sounds the ducks make or hiding the ducks so the others can search for them. 

With 18 of these duckies per package, there are plenty to go around. This makes them easy and convenient to use for baby shower or birthday party decorations, bathtub toys, party favors, or just about any other purpose you can think of. The kids seemed to enjoy playing with them, and they looked great as a decorating item.

I handed out several in party bags in addition to the ones used for decorating, and still had a few left for the bathtub. I had purchased a couple of these value packs, thinking that I would need a few more than I did, but only ended up using one package since there were so many in the pack. I packed the rest away in with the rest of my party supplies for future parties, and even though I could put the ones used for decorating away to reuse them next time, I decided to put them in with the playthings for when the grandkids come over instead since they enjoyed them so much.

I recommend this product for decorating, goodie bags, bathtub toys, or just general playtime. They can be used by many age groups. This 18 count package can be found online for anywhere from around $7 and up, so shop around for the best price available.
