Written: Sep 27 '01 (Updated Jan 22 '03)
Pros:Plot, Description of the body, Pace of the story
Cons:None really
The Bottom Line: Anyone interested in Science Fiction or in medical fiction should read this one.

About the author
Isaac Asimov is known for his Foundation series and the Robot and Empire series. He is the only sci-fi author ever to win the Hugo of the Hugo award for his Foundation Series. But the aspect of his writing style which appeals to all his readers is the amount of real facts that he puts in along with all the fiction. This guy is not just any other pulp writer, here is a person who has done a deep study of various fields of science and writes his fiction stories after becoming a master in that field.

The Story
This story of his is apart from the above mentioned two series. The story starts with the news of the defection of a Russian scientist to America. News is that the scientist has some data with him that could either prevent another world war or give victory to America. So naturally the scientist gets the best security. But alas it all comes to no avail as there is an attempt at the scientist's life and he gets badly hurt and develops a clot in his brain.

There is just one way to remove the clot and that is to use an experimental miniaturization machine which can miniaturize things for a fixed period and miniaturize people and send them into the scientists body. Finally, four men and one woman, all experts in their fields are miniaturized and sent into the human body. Little does the world know that one of the five does not want the mission to succeed.

So enter the fantastic voyage into the human body, You won't believe the descriptive details of what all is inside you that has been presented in this novel. Read this book to find out, whether the voyage succeeds or fails.

Rating
One of the most stupendous books on the interiors of a human body. Has described in detailed phenomenas like the formation of intra-venular fistulas, the pumping of the heart, the effect of vibrations in the ear drum and so on and so forth.

Any person interested in knowing what lies inside him or anyone interested in adventure books has to check this book out.

Simply another classic from the magnificient collection of Asimov. A five star rating for this book.
