Airmark1's Full Review: Far/Aim 2001: Includes Federal Aviation Regulation...
We all know that the information within the FAR's is a bit dry. This book is no "Tom Clancy." It is, however, a wealth of information that all of us pilots use on an almost daily basis; when that information is lacking or misunderstood, we go to the pilots Bible....the FAR/AIM
The Books size, mainly the width and height is perfect for most flight bags (this is especially important for Instructors who actually carry the book around with them).
ASA's FAR/AIM has been a long lived tradition for me. I have been using ASA's version for about 12 years now, and I can say that it is my favorite. I would not change to another company's. Why do I prefer ASA's?
ASA's version has both the FAR's (Federal Aviation Regulations) and the AIM (Aeronautical Information Manual) in one book. Other Companies sometimes separate them.
There is an easy to use index at each end for each set of information. FAR and AIM respectively. I tend to find information fast and easily.
New information and/or regulations are clearly marked. I know what's new, and I can easily study through it at the beginning of each year to learn what is different from last.
It includes the FAR's that pertain to me. This includes FAR's 1, 43, 61, 71, 73, 91, 97, 103, 105, 119, 135, 141, 142, and the NTSB 830 The bold Reg's are the ones that I reference the most often.
It also includes, of course the FULL, FULL COLOR reprint of the AIM - The Aeronautical Information manual is the building block of every pilots understanding and performance in aviation.
