| pichu210's Full Review: Farberware Millennium Stainless Steel Euro Peeler |
In my opinion, a peeler is one of the most important tools in the kitchen. I just hate trying to peel potatoes or apples with a substandard peeler.
The Farberware Millenium Stainless Steel Euro Peeler is the best I've ever used. I've had mine ever since I set up housekeeping, so I guess you can really say that it durable. The only difference between mine and the one pictured is that my handle is black plastic and looks as if it is probably more comfortable to grip.
The feature that sets this peeler apart from others that I have tried is that the blade swivels which makes getting into the contours of potatoes easier.
One of the hardest things that I have found to peel is carrots. I don't know why, but they always seem like a pain in the butt to me. The Farberware does them quickly and easily.
My wife does a lot of canning and baking during apple season, and we do a lot of peeling. The job is done in no time.
The blade on this peeler has stayed sharp for all these years which is absolutely amazing to me. I won't tell you for sure how many years, but it has been more than 10.
We sell apple pies at church for the holidays, and every woman who works in the kitchen has gone out and bought a Farberware peeler after using ours. They were amazed at the ease of use and the comfort of this peeler.
The plastic handle is comfortable and makes large peeling jobs not seem so bad. No hand cramps here.
I didn't think that I could really say this much about a vegetable peeler, but I really would never ever use any other brand.
Cleanup is also easy as the peeler can just be popped into the dishwasher.
