I bought this coffee maker because it is 12 cup, programmable and because it looked so pretty in the advertisement I saw. We use our coffee maker daily and have coffee on all day. We like 12 cups because my husband drinks coffee both before and after work (and sometimes a cup in the evening.) I drink a cup or two in the morning and that's it. Whatever time of day we make coffee, we keep it and microwave it until it's gone. Even with a vinegar bath eventually there is an after taste, so we go through a lot of coffeemakers.
I liked this percolator very much. I liked the sleek stainless steel with black handle. He didn't like it at all.
It was hard to tell how much coffee was left in the pot. There was a basket for the ground coffee and a hollow rod, that went into an indentation inside the bottom of the pot, for the water to percolate through. Threading the basket and rod was sometimes a challenge. It didn't require a filter, which was a plus for making coffee - but a minus for cleaning. It had a short cord on a round base that contained the 24 hour programmable clock. The coffee pot portion plugged into the base and was removed for serving. It took up very little counter space and looked so nice sitting there.
I refer to it in the past tense because I ended up taking a loss and selling it on eBay and going back to the old standby - Mr. Coffee.
From time to time I get bored with the look and try something new. This was one of those purchases.
