Pros: Great classic looks , Percolator flavor, durably constructed,
very easy to use, needs no filters.
Cons: Needs to include a longer cord. Should use a clear acryllic top for fascination effect.
The Bottom Line: If you love great coffee flavor, aroma, class, and style, buy it. It's an excellent example of why percolator pots still exist in today's world of paper-filter coffee pots.

| aquarianm's Full Review: Farberware FCP512S 12-Cup Coffee Maker |
When I was very young, my grandmother used an aluminum stove-top percolator. It had the clear top, so you could see the coffee perking in it, which was always fascinating, and I heard the same nostalgia and fascination repeated by others with similar memories when the subject comes up. I clearly remember the aroma as well. My grandmother had a reputation as a totally fantastic cook and also for excellent coffee, and now I know why, thanks to my new Faberware Millennium 12-cup pot.
As an adult, I've always used drip coffee makers or the type with a reservoir. A month or so ago, I was staying at a friend's 2nd home near the beach and they had an old aluminum pot just like the one I remember from childhood. I used it out of sheer nostalgia, and the aroma of percolating coffee was as great as I remember. I got the Faberware pot as a more modern version, and so far it has performed excellently.
I work third shift, and occasionally my employer's coffee service runs out of filters. I also have a hard time when things are getting busy getting over to the pot across the floor. The Millennium is a stylish and flavorful solution to both problems, and the coffee tastes much better. I think the paper filters add or detract something from the flavor of the coffee when it's brewing. My early morning co-workers are thrilled, as well.
The Millennium is simple to operate, great looking, and makes enough coffee that it lasts me throughout the night. I make a fresh pot to share in the morning, but after I go my co-workers have to revert back to the "drip stuff".
The two things I really miss with the Millennium, however, is the clear top where you can see the coffee perking, and a longer cord. The cord provided is just barely long enough to get past my computer, so I use a bit of extra care in pouring, but overall, I am very satisfied with having spent the money. And I have great coffee at night!
