I received a Farberware percolator as a Christmas gift. I was working very well for the first six months. Never a problem except for a few grinds in the bottom of the pot which was not a bother. However, a few weeks ago I noticed that the coffee was not as piping hot as before. I thought it was my imagination. Recently on a few occasions, the coffee did not brew at all and I had to brew an entire pot again. Once again I thought it was something I did. I then noticed the coffee itself was not quite as strong as it had been when I first received it. I use a grinder and grind my coffee right before brewing. I thought the grinder was not grinding sufficiently so I added more to the pot. This helped a few times but today I realized that the coffee is not hot anymore and it is weak. (I drink it black and like it hot.) I was disappointed to find out from another reviewer that there is not place to get it repaired. I may have to go back to the drip coffee maker with regret or find another brand. This product was not cheap and I am not happy with its shelf life. Six months is not a long time. Maybe if you do not use it everyday it lasts longer. I drink coffee most days and was looking forward to this product lasting as long as my mom's 50 year old Farberware pots and pans! Not this time.
