| tochriste's Full Review: Farberware FCP512S 12-Cup Coffee Maker |
I am the type of person that cannot even speak in the morning until I've had my first cup of coffee, therefore, I've always found it difficult to get up and have to MAKE that first pot. Yes, there were programmable coffee makers out there, but they were automatic drip, not percolators. The taste of drip coffee cannot compare to coffee that is perked. So, I loyally stuck to my Farberware percolator, prepared my coffee at night, and plugged it in in the morning. Until now...
This programmable, cordless percolator by Farberware, is, by far, the best. Now I can have "perked" coffee, with the added benefit of not having to make it in the morning. The percolator is cordless because the cord is on the base, and you can just remove the pot without the cord. It is beautifully designed (looks great on the counter) and perks fast ( 1 cup per minute, for a total of 12 cups in 12 minutes). You can place the pot back on the base to keep your coffee hot. The smell gets me right out of bed in the morning! It works better than my alarm clock!
Okay, I can make one suggestion for improvement. The LCD is a bit difficult to read, especially when you are trying to figure out if the unit is on or off. There are icons on the LCD Display showing when it is on, and also when the unit is programmed, however, a little red light to signal whether it is on or off would be better.
Farberware has always made quality products, and this time they hit it right on the head. Quality and convenience, and one great pot of coffee.
