I wanted a percolator and I just had to have one. My husband could not understand what was wrong with our Mr. Coffee machine. All he kept saying was we have had this pot for years and the coffee is fine.
Until one day, oops....the coffee pot broke (no, I swear it really did). So I went to the store to buy a percolator, not know exactly what I wanted. I just knew that my friends that had them would never go back to a coffee maker, like a Mr. Coffee. I had a really nice salesperson wait on me and she explained which one does what and also what they don't do. The Faberware percolator seemed to be the one for me.
I couldn't wait to get home and try it out. I opened the box and there was nothing to set-up except the clock. I washed the pot with soapy water and now I was ready to go. The directions were easy to read and easy to follow. I liked the fact that even though I would rarely use it, it had a clock that I could program to make the coffee any time I wanted. I don't like to do that though because I like to pour fresh water into the pot and not use water that has been sitting for a while.
Whatever coffee you use, be it a store brand or a name brand, the coffee always tastes great. The clean-up is easy also. It takes just about 1 minute per cup that you make to percolate. I wait about 2 minutes after it is done, I take the little basket with the grinds in it out and leave it in the sink till it cools, then I just dump it out. I find that if you do not remove the grinds before you pour you coffee, some grinds end up in the bottom of you cup.
It has been about a year now that I have this Farberware percolator and I am so happy with it. I Have never had a problem with it and I highly recommend it if you are a true coffee lover!!!
