coloradocatz's Full Review: Farouk Chi Silk Infusion 6 oz
I love it and can't live without it! Now, let me tell you about my hair. I have hair that is naturally ultra curly with frizz. I color my hair which does strange things to it. In some areas it becomes straighter and smoother, in other areas it becomes frizzier. So there you are-got the picture?
Okay, I've tried just about every product on the market. And some do a pretty good job. Chil Silk Infusion does a GREAT job. I still have to use my straightner - it doesn't eliminate curl, or frizzies. But what Chi does do is smooth the hair, and it seems to make my hair healthier. I have found with other products that while making my hair straighter (the super straight products) they make it greasy. Greasy is not good. My hair is dry too. So making it greasier means that I have to wash it more often, which makes it drier. Get the picture?
CHI goes onto wet hair. After shampooing and towel drying, you smooth it into your hair and comb through. I put just a tiny bit more on the ends and any really damaged areas. As I'm drying, I can feel areas that might need just a touch more. And I do mean a TOUCH.
The trick with Chi is that you must use the correct amount for YOUR hair. It took me a few times to get it right - but stick with it, you'll get the amount right for your hair. I put on too much the first 3 times I used it. Now, I have it just right. Not only does CHI help my hair, but I have received so many compliments on how nice it looks. And we all want that-right?
I use an amount about the size of a pencil eraser-Really! Less makes it still too dry, more makes it have to be washed more often. But I recommend playing around with the amount until you get it just right for you.
Chi is a little expensive-at first. BUT you use so little that it makes it really cheap in the long run. I was able to try it first by buying a sample size at a local hair salon chain. The sample size cost me $2 and lasted 8 shampoos. Can't beat that, right? I would suggest buying a sample size first. The sample size will most likely convince you that you can't live without it. Once you try it and find that it does what you need it to do, then you can invest in a larger size bottle. AND they sell it at Wal-Mart, Wal-greens, every where!
My daughter's hair is different than mine. Her hair is very thick and is on the coarse side. She must use more than I do. Again, she has had to experiment to get the amount just right. But she is a regular CHI Silk Infusion user now too.
I can only think of one hair type that possibly would not benefit from this product. Fine, straight hair. I don't think that Chi Silk Infusion was designed for fine, straight hair.
